East Glacier Park’s first post office was established in 1950 with Cleola Ralston as postmaster. East Glacier Park is within the Blackfeet Indian Reservation boundaries and is part of an area historically and culturally important to the Blackfeet. Early national park visitors pulled in on the train heading from the east, to spend the night at Glacier Park Lodge before saddling up for a backcountry ride in the company of a guide. Visit the Glacier Park Lodge for an enjoyable stay. Guests will also enjoy browsing through the gift shop and in the evenings there is always a touch of entertainment- from concerts to sing-a-longs in the lounge and lobby. Check the lecture schedule at the information desk in the lobby. Blackfeet culture is the main focus of evening talks.
