Stanish Artist/Luthier Michael grew up in Montana on his parent’s ranch south of Great Falls, MT. His country upbringing is often reflected in his artwork. He utilizes a variety of media including oil, watercolor, ceramic and steel. He also enjoys creating functional art in beautiful wood grains building acoustic and electric guitars. Over the years Michael has participated in numerous shows and exhibitions including the CMR Art Auction, the Yellowstone Art Museum, Ducks Unlimited, Missouri River Fly Fisher Auction, Art in the Park, Beijing, China Cultural Exchange, The Loveland, CO Sculpture Invitational and many one-man shows. His works have been purchased for private and public collections throughout the United States. He was commissioned in Great Falls to do a large bas relief concrete sculpture for Trinity Lutheran Church, and a monumental steel and ceramic sculpture for the MSU College of Technology. He recently painted “The Growing Tree” for Harvest Church in Billings, MT where it is on display and used on the church bulletin. It represents the philosophy of our church mission.
