Marc was raised near Akron, Ohio and earned his Bachelor of Science in English from Kent State University in 1995. Though he has no formal art training, he has actively created a wide range of artwork all of his life.
Marc relocated from Ohio to Montana to work seasonally as a park ranger in Yellowstone National Park where he was employed at the entrance station before eventually being promoted to the Mammoth Visitor Center where he served as a park ranger and naturalist. It was during winters off from Yellowstone when Marc seriously began creating art, focusing his efforts in the medium of collage. After enjoying six seasons in Yellowstone, he re-located briefly to Bozeman before settling in Missoula in 2002. Marc presented his first solo art exhibition in Akron in 1997. He has since contributed to the Home Resource (of Missoula) art auction in 2005 and 2006, and exhibited his work at the former Art Missoula, Portico Real Estate, the now defunct pizza shop The Fireplace, Gold Dust Gallery and Zoë, all in Missoula, Montana.
*The Art*
I work in many different mediums when I create art. Working in this way helps to keep my work fresh as I challenge myself to explore new ways to manipulate images, paint, and other found objects. I work in the mediums of collage, abstract acrylic, oils and watercolor, as well as photography, both digital and film.
