I retired from a 27 career in professional picture framing in 2004 and am now painting in my home studio.I completed an artist residency at Kila School west of Kalispell in April of 2005, and presented mixed media technique to the students at West Glacier School. With the assistance of Carol Jakes of Kalispell's Dance Art Center in June of 2005, I designed a week long workshop "Dance Into Art". The emphasis was on coordinating dance movement with painting. Canvases were executed on the studio floor and revealed remarkable, vivid abstract expression. My private teaching is both technical and intuitive. I am also involved in art for therapy instruction. Workshops are full day and include the mediums of watercolor, pastel, oil pastel,collage and mixed media. I have been active in local art organizations and have contributed to the following local auctions since 1982. Yellowstone Art Museum, Hockaday Art Museun,Big Brothers and Sisters, Human Therapy on Horse Back/Sam's Riders,Alert, St. Matthew's School, Hope House, Sunriser Lions, Trout Unlimited, Winter Classic for Children,Ravenwood Natural Science Center,Special Friends Advocacy, Montana Land Reliance(exhibitor),Flathead County Democratic Women, and the Glacier Fund. My work appears regularly in the Hockaday miniature and membership shows. I teach privately and coach developing artists in the Flathead area.
