After raising a family and working full time, I got my art degree from the University of New Hampshire. Eventually I was able to devote more time to painting wildlife and the habitat they live in. I now live in the Treasure State full time and am discovering more treasures to paint every day. I paint in a realistic style, but not every hair or feather, as I prefer to focus more on the essence of the animal or landscape. I also try to include fine art principles, such as positive vs. negative space, balance of design elements, gradation of colors, etc. I paint primarily in oils, using archival materials, and frame each painting with an appropriate frame.
