Kathleen Karlsen’s florals, forests and landscapes are vibrantly alive. She combines brilliant color with textured surfaces and layered effects. Karlsen uses both brushes and palette knives with thick, undiluted paint and impasto mediums.
Karlsen works in acrylics, oils and mixed media.
Kathleen Karlsen received a B.A. in studio art from the College of William and Mary and a M.A. in art and music from California State University. She also works as a consultant and writer in the field of design psychology. Karlsen has taught creative arts in school, community and private studio settings for nine years.
Kathleen Karlsen lives in Bozeman, MT with her husband and five children.
