Living in Northwestern Montana most of his life has afforded him an abundance of opportunities to photograph his subject matter. He works mostly in the medium of watercolor featuring more portrait style paintings in which he focuses on the color and detail of his subject. John has attended several art and craft shows in Montana and has done commissioned wildlife paintings for people throughout the U.S. With no formal training, he has developed a unique style and his attention to detail has created considerable interest in pet portraits. Pet owners like to remember their best friends, and the emotional response to the finished paintings has been extremely gratifying.
