His love for the state and its wildlife show in his sculptures.He has been a chainsaw sculptor for over 30 years, longer than most modern chainsaw carvers have been alive. All of his sculptures are done one at a time, by hand, never machined. He is an incredible artist for a chainsaw carver. He has carved an extremely broad variety of subjects. There is literally nothing he won't try to carve. And he always succeeds. He does incredible lifelike sleeping grizzlies, which are his trademark.They are easily the most recognizable as a Jim L. Rogers sculpture. His eagles are the best, and everything he does comes in any size. But, perhaps his most amazing pieces are his religious works. It's hard to believe that he can carve an entire crusifix with a chainsaw. Most all of his work is done with a chainsaw, but its unlike any chainsaw work you'll ever see. Take a look!!
