Deborah is a 'third generation Montanan, once removed' having been born during the ten years her parents lived in California. Most of her life has been spent in or near the Rocky Mountains of Montana and Canada. She began working in watercolor in the 1980s, and has more recently branched into acrylic on canvas and ceramic glaze on tile. She mixes her own colors from a three-color palette. Her work is mostly impressionistic florals and free-form color pieces. Her distinctive use of ink with watercolor or acrylics results in a vibrant sense of movement and life.
