A native westerner, Cameron Blagg spent fifteen years living the life of a remote mountain man.
From his handbuilt cabin in the Cascade Mountains of Southern Washington, Blagg became
known as the western artist who painted and lived the frontier life.
Cameron Blagg's special love of the Native Americans and western history brings realism
and authenticity to each of his paintings. Time spent as a guest at many of the Northwest
reservations, an extensive collection of native and western artifacts and historical
photographs enhance Blagg's rich expressions of the past.
Cameron's mountain home allowed him to experience the hardships and freedoms of the
mountain man.
In thirty years of oil painting, Blagg has developed his own unique style, his talent
driven by the desire to make painting his life's work. Blagg has been painting
professionally since 1974. As a self-taught artist, he has a reputation for his
originality, imagination and authenticity.
Cameron Blagg's work is some of the most collected in the West. Several of his originals
have been purchased by the Bureau of Indian Affairs for educational purposes. Over
seventy-four of Blagg's originals have been reproduced in limited edition collector prints
and his work is in private and public collections throughout the world.
Cameron Blagg is an honorary member of the Columbia Cascade Company, the Primitive Rifleman
Mountain Man Organization, and former member of the National Muzzle loading Rifle
Association. Cameron has won numerous awards for his work and attends most of the major
western art shows in the west. He also donates time and his art work to many charitable
organizations.
