The profound beauty of my surroundings can still elicit a tear and bring me to my knees. Spending several years with Fish, Wildlife and Parks opened up avenues into the animal world I couldn’t resist and having a good friend in the wildlife rehab business made the study and photographic opportunity irresistible. I take all my own pictures and often use upwards of 15 to complete a painting. Although my work consists of many animals, I don’t restrict myself to just animal art. I am an artist always and my mind encourages me to experiment with color whenever I am in front of a canvas. Also, I like to work in all media and with all mediums. That being the case, I rarely focus in one main area. I have degrees in business management and in Art, but the awards from many shows I have been in are just as impressive. I have many Best of Shows, People’s Choice, Top 100 in Artist Magazine, DU Pennsylvania, 3rd place 2 times Montana State Duck Stamp, Finalist in Art Show at the Dog Show, even Corel Draw digital art award. I have taken workshops from some of the most prestigious artists in the country and my art has been honored in the homes of many purchasers from Canada to Florida and from East to West. Now, I have refrained from traveling to the shows all summer and instead paint in my home studio from the thousands upon thousands of photographs I have taken throughout my journey. I will promote wildlife preservation, habitat and environmental issues and still paint any and all the canvases I can muster and hope that when I pass into another life, I will be standing in front of an easel painting.
