The design for the new museum employs a thorough integration of a new facility with the old. The addition is the chief public building, housing the new gallery wings and meeting rooms, and the totally renovated current structure provides space for essential museum support services. When the building is completed this fall, the Center's important collection of contemporary and historic regional art will be shown on a permanent basis in large new galleries. The Art Center's changing exhibition program which has featured the best in 20th century art, as well as prominent historic works of other periods and culture, will utilize the other large galleries in the new complex.
