Since her passing, many in the art world have reflected on the motivation of Arlene Hooker Fay. Most agree, that Arlene was strongly inspired by family in particular and humanity in general. Indeed, she was also recognized for her unabashed sense of humor. A. Hooker’s Gallery is intended as a tribute not only to her life’s work and her serious side but to the memory of Arlene’s many “hookerisms”, her trademark humor among friends, both new and old.

With the establishment of A. Hooker’s gallery we have created an exclusive source for Arlene’s work. In addition, we hope to continue what Arlene the artist was truly about. Her depictions of the faces of humanity in the West are filled with joy and love. She managed to capture the soul of her subjects in her own exquisite way which was also reflective of her own rich and challenged time here on earth. She was recognized by her colleagues as a pioneer in the modern rebirth of Western art and is cited by many popular contemporaries as having had a strong influence in their own work. A more complete memorial can be found within this site on A memorial to Arlene.
Our gallery has been established in a building that has been in Arlene’s family for several decades and once housed a family business run by Arlene's dad, Bill Hooker. The spiritual sense about this location seems very positive, and it is here that we intend to provide not only a complete collection of her work and associated items, but that of artists who share in a soulful presentation of the life and environment of the West.

For inquiries by patrons artists and even coffee aficionados, please feel free to contact us by EMAIL or visit us on Great Falls’ Westside at 925 Central Avenue West. You will be sure to enjoy some hospitality and a relaxing atmosphere including the coming event : “Grampa Bill’s Hideout” in the back.
